Calisthenics on social in 2023

I recently joined instagram, tiktok and youtube to share my content and it took me two days to realize that this world is all fuc*ed up. So basically I was scrolling down looking for videos about calisthenics and I couldn't get why some very informative videos had so few views compared to others that were more , let’s say  , questionables.

I mean, I don't wanna compare them to hot chicks that show their butt or the giga chad flexing his muscles that for obvious reasons get so much attention , but a simple comparison between creators that share the same goal : give useful information about training.

“6 easy steps to get your handstand”, “full planche in less than 6 months”, “one arm pull up is easy “, i mean , only reading this gives me a headache, but they get 10k , 100k , 1 million views!!

And the comments too !

“ best video ever about planche “

“ you're the best , BRO “

“ finally a decent video about this “

Now , this is not a problem itself . You can say what you want , if you are not able to judge a real informative video is your problem , you won’t gonna get any results , AMEN.

What really pisses me off are the comments below some very informative videos instead , that maybe lack of video editing or so , but they tell the truth and not what you wanna hear. They don’t say, “you can make it “ or “ follow this step by step and you gonna make it”. They say “ you probably have to work your ass off if you want to get this or that '' and then they tell you what you have to do in a scientific way.

What they get instead is something like : “ where are your muscles ? ” or “ show me your full plate then “.

People want to INSTANTLY learn .

If it’s a 20 seconds video , well explained, that teaches you everything about your dream skill, then it's gonna be successful .

But it’s not only  about what is told on those videos , if they convince you that you can make it , there it goes , follow, like etc…  and if this is supported by an amazing, shaped body it becomes much easier .

But instant  learning never works , there is no easy way to do and learn new things. This applies to training and to life in general .

Filter information would be a good step . But how do I do it ? Well a good metric would be don’t get any results in weeks or months after you follow an advice . There is no escape .

no results = something is going wrong

Maybe because the info given was wrong, or maybe because they are not specific for your situation ( shallow info ) .

A second tip could be :  do i feel fucking pain every time i workout with the technique i’ve been taught ? Do I always feel tired because the volume advised for my training is insane ? if the answer is YES,  there is a problem .

Are the video of this person always talk about the same fucking thing ?

Last advice : the words "Planche, iron cross, one arm pull up , handstand push ups, front lever pull ups” and “easy , 3 months , simple “  can’t be put together in the same sentence . If you read something like that , run away please.

see you soon !
